About 20 percent of all new businesses were started by entrepreneurs aged 50 to 59 years, and 15 percent were age 60 and over. That’s according to a study by the Kauffman Foundation and Legal Zoom. Over the last decade, the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity belongs to those in the 55-to-64 age group.
